United Stone Veneer Announces Plans For Expansion
United Stone Veneer has announced plans to add 50,000 square feet and two more automation pieces to its facility in Middleburg, Pennsylvania.
The 50 percent increase in space will help enable the company to keep up with high demand for its manufactured stone veneer.
“Demand for the product is the main reason for the expansion,” said United Stone Veneer president, David Barrett. “Our customers have always been a big part of our decisions, and we feel that added capacity will allow us to serve more customers.”
Even with a facility that boasts a level of automation far beyond the labor-intensive industry standard, the need for greater capacity has been evident. In less than five years, United Stone Veneer has increased its product line from two colors and four styles in 1999, to 23 colors and seven styles in 2004.
The new automation equipment will play a vital role in the company’s expansion into new markets. United Stove Veneer currently sells stone in nine states, but plans to add six additional states in 2005.
